When I played the UM-4 it didn't sustain all that well. It felt kinda stiff and unnatural. One of the cuts in the body was pretty bad and I couldn't get a decent jazz tone out of the thing.
Now I
know that you never played an Ultramatic!
You're 100% wrong, dude.
I know, because I own one and you have no clue what saying here. It has a GREAT Jazz tone and the neck is super fast and smooth as butta, baby!
Look at the Harmony Central reviews I posted one more time (...if you even bothered to read them in the first place).
The Ultramatic was PRAISED for it's great Jazz tone and sustain by players with 20+ years of playing experience.
I think you're confused and played something else, but it wasn't a UM-4.
Still not convinced?
Need more "proof"????
Check out the below posted website, where this man knows EXACTLY what he's talking about when it comes to guitars. The whole site is loaded with "cut-to-the-chase" EDUCATED commentary. Read what he has to say about American-made PRS guitars, Korean-made PRS guitars, and Samick PRS copies.
In a nutshell, he says that the Korean-made PRS guitars (manufactured under the name Dillion Guitars) are better than the high-priced American-made PRS's. Then, under Samick, the last two sentences say that the Samick-made PRS copies (UM-4) are better than the Dillion PRS copies when you swap out the pickups, as I originally suggested.
So if you can figure out the math, that means a Samick Greg Bennett Ultramatic UM-4 is a better guitar than a new American-made PRS that costs 3 times the price.

More proof?
Check out the Harmony Central ratings and reviews about the Quicksilver...

Now check the ratings and reviews on the Ultramatic UM-4...

Did you notice that the Ultramatic beat the Quicksilver in EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY?
I don't make this stuff up.
I actually OWN the product I'm talking about and post facts to back my statements.
64Firebird is absolutely right!
Post stuff that's based on experience and facts, not pictures and fluff. Then maybe, just "maybe", you'll get more respect when you post something.
