This is my first post so pardon if it is missed placed. Just a newbie to recording as well. I realize Behringer mixers are frowned upon but alas I have an 802a. I just bought a Beh. tube pre-amp 1953 (on ebay)which has phantom power as well. I wanted to know which unit I should run phantom on the mixeror the pre-amp? Or both. Does it matter?? I am powering a CAD e200.

shirley (are you joking about your question, or is that just your name?),

You only need phantom power on the unit directly connected to the microphone. You have a few options:

1) mic-->preamp (w/phantom power)-->recorder (computer,etc.) or PA

2) mic-->mixer (w/phantom power)-->recorder (computer,etc.) or PA

3) mic-->preamp (w/phantom power)-->mixer-->recorder (computer,etc.) or PA
