Philip Glass Explains it All

VERY nice! I can't agree that it's "never been done before" but it's not a common style these days and you've wriiten and performed/recorded something to be proud of.

the panning effect on the main vocals jumps out a little bit too much during the verses. There may be a "depth" knob on the effect you're using. I'd turn it down a bit. The vocals sound great, otherwise. I'm wondering if there's a way to increase the clarity in the chorus vocals, maybe further EQ or some other settings on the synth they may or may not be running through. i like the effect though i'd also like to hear them a little more clearly. right now, i'm able to make out about every 3 words.

very creative, i like it, especially the outro.

Just a thought on the chorus vocals. I know this is an old trick, but it just might work here:

Make a copy of the vocal track(s) and keep it entirely (or nearly) clean. (You might or might not want to match some of the eq/panning) Then adjust the level between the two until you get the right blend. That way you don't need to mess so much with the original track, as the copy will lend it more clarity.

Other thoughts:
I really liked the low instrumental bit near the end. The Glockenspiel was just right.

For the outro with the record skip (which was cool), what if you make the loop just a quarter to half a beat shorter or longer, just to throw it off kilter a little more.

Also, I like the movment in the chord progression in the chorus.

The lyrics are really original. What's you writing process?

I'm the biggest Jessica x fan out there, but this one isn't doing it for me. It lacks the usually killer melodies! I listen to your stuff a lot, though, so please make more.

Lt. Bob: Thank you!

Andrushkwit: I think you might be referring to the reverse reverb being too loud in verse 1?
There seems to be a consensus about the intelligibility of the chorus vocals, I'm going to try to improve that. Thanks!

Michael: Thanks for the idea on the chorus vocals. When I looked, I had actually done that already, so I just turned the dryer one up a little and I think it has helped.
My lyrics often involve a lot of research...don't everyone's? I read some articles about Glass, especially the Terry Gross interview. But then I also feel free to throw in some misinformation and BS along the way.

4tracker: Awesome, I have a fan! Thanks!
