i have a set of pg drum mics and i want to run them through my behringer pmx 2000 i wondered if they need to use phantom power and i just want to know how i can tell if a mic needs phantom power? thanks

If you plug them in without phantom power and they don't work that usually means they need phantom power.

If your talking about the Shure PG 6-Piece Drum Microphone Package, that come with the PG52, PG56, and the PG81's. . .Only the the PG81's which are usually used as Overheads, need phantom power. HOWEVER, . . I'm pretty sure that the PG1's can also be powered by a AA Battery if you don't have a phantom power supply available .. .

So, I guess she answer to your question is NO, the PG mic package doesn't need a separate phantom power supply, as long as you keep replacing the batteries. But, if you don't want to keep using batteries then you might want to get yourself a phantom power box for the two PG81's. . .hope that helps :p
