Alright I have been reading up on the "perfect" guitar sound for a while now so I finally feel like I have a decent idea of whats going on. So I tracked a simple little metal riff, then double tracked the rhythm part twice and the lead part twice and blended them together. It was pretty tight sounding and had a very good feel to it. I should say that at the moment I do not have any acoustic treatment which I know is a huge no no and I have the BX-8s,(no no as well, haha). But I was close micing the guitar so I didn't think it was going to matter that much. The sound coming out of the amp was amazing and I was very happy with the final result. The problem is that when I bounced it into a .wav file it sounded awful. The bass was distorting really bad, it sounded like it was fizzling out. Now I checked again to make sure and it was a good sound coming out of my monitors, I even put a hi pass on all the tracks to prevent the bass boom and still the same result with that. So is it my space, my placement, or what? I was very happy with the sound going into my computer so what gives? Any help would be great.
