I agree. I paid very close attention in school. I live in NorCal. "Spit" is common vernacular for rap. So, you're right about the slang. And I talk that way too. But {1.} anyone frying their brains on MDMA, which of course goes by all kinds of slang -- from ectasy (almost always mispelled), ex-, b-bombs, clarity, scooby snacks, decadence, cristal, etc. -- and {2.} mispelling everything with "minor" spelling errors both aren't really smart things to do. Especially if you want intelligent people to take you seriously. I realize I'm not the smartest tool out there, but that doesn't stop me from trying to maximize my learning curve, and thus my earning potential as well.
... well, anyway, I know this is a little bit of a digression back to the vocal booth topic, but I'd said that I had Auralex on the back wall of my walk-in, just thought I'd display a photo of that...
Dang, I'm gonna miss this place when I move out.
But the new place is gonna be "hella bomb."

I brought up skin color and clothes here because a vernacular was being used that indicates he's a young urban black man. For all I know he's actually a white dude from Fresno or something. Just inference. It just annoys me when people think there's only one kind of English that can be spoken. Language is constantly evolving. We sure as hell aren't speaking the same English we were a couple hundred years ago. Ebonics and urban slang are a form of English, just not a form that everyone uses. I could imagine in a few hundred years from now, language in America will probably be a mix of English, ebonics, and Spanish.
And Seeker of Rock, I was really just addressing my comments to a very few. Not you. Humorous jabs are cool, funny, I'm down with that. Holy Shit man, Rick answers more questions than anyone i know in these forums. He's the most helpful guy on here. He may not be an expert like Ethan, etc. but he knows his stuff. He has taught me most of the stuff i know about acoustics and studio building, and has helped so many others. The reason his post count is so high is 'cause of all the help, and just a lil bit of angry comments.earthboundrec said:
