PCIE card physical size predicament

I have an EMU 1616M, which I was hoping to put in my Dell Optiplex GX280 small form factor PC. The problem is, that whilst the card WILL fit into the PCIE slot, because of the dimensions of the casing, I cannot close up the PC with the card inside, it's too big by roughly 30%.

This leaves me with two options as far as I can see; to run with the casing open, which i'm not too keen on doing, or to saw a hole in the pc casing for the top of the card to stick out of, which also doesn't seem like a great idea...

Does anyone have any suggestions, or know of some kind of PCIE adaptor I could purchase which could also house the card externally?

Thanks,
TJ

external PCIe chassis: $2,200
Standard size case for your Dell: $50 and a few hours of disassembly/reassembly if you know what you're doing.

Or use an external audio interface or a different machine.
