PCI - PCMCIA adapter card for laptop Layla24?

I’m considering getting the Layla24 with the PCMCIA interface for my laptop, but I want the flexibility of connecting it to my desktop as well.

Know of any good PCI adapter cards? Is this a good idea or will I run into problems?

Why not just buy the PCI version of the Layla, and purchase the PCMIA card which is available seperately?

It’s a matter of $$$. I don’t have the extra $200 right now and I want to start using the Layla immediately with my laptop.

I just called Echo and they also sell the PCI interface for $200. So, there’s my solution. I’ll but the cardbus unit now, then buy the PCI interface later.

In case anyone is interested, I did happen to find this Cardbus/PCI adapter card http://www.synchrotech.com/products/card-rw_08.html It’s about the same price as the Echo interface, but of course I’d rather buy the one specifically designed for the Layla.
