I'm thinking of buying a custom built computer from this site. I don't know much about computers so I definately want it all setup when I get it. They also optimize it for recording. What do you think? Should I buy from this site? Also, what do you think of the firebox? I'm thinking about getting it for my audio interface. I have a 3 thousand dollar budget to build a complete DAW.

well, not knowing much about computers puts you in a vunerable position.
The first thing I noticed was price. You could build all the same box's yourself for a lot less money. Its not difficult to learn really. But hey, if you got the cash and willing to give it to them, then I hope they do a fine job for ya.

The fact of the matter is, if I were not so ingrained in the WIN operating system I would have a G5 in my studio. Especially after using one for video and audio editing at the local college TV station. The Apple/Linux system is the most stable crash proof sytem I have used in the last 30 years. I am not exagerating. I built one of the original Altos kits back in the 70's and probably 100 computers since. Both Apple clones and IBM clones. I've even made music with a TIMEX. Through the years I've found that getting stuff for IBM clones was a lot easier than for an APPLE but now all of that has changed. Equipment for Apple is the same price and just as available. But the equipment is only part of the equasion. You've got to be smarter than what you're working on, you've got to have a clue and a good ear to start with. It breaks down to about 90% tallent and inspiration 10% equipment and it's capabilities. The most important piece of equipment is on top of your neck.
