Patchbay Question

Now I was wondering about TRS patchbays. When I use a insert cable splitting one trs into 2 ts wont those become unbalanced? When routing a TRS patchbay you use TRS cables right? So by the cables going into it are TS the ring part of the cable is a waste or does it become balanced?

The minute you unbalance a balanced signal, it becomes unbalanced period.

You also lose 6dB of signal level unbalancing a balanced signal.

If you run an unbalanced signal through a TRS cable, nothing happens, one of the conductors is simply unused....

TRS inserts *are* unbalanced.
