First off, after a search, i didn't really get the info i wanted. Sorry if this has been asked before. Anyway, I'll probably be upgrading my recording chain soon. I don't really need a patchbay as of yet but I find it easier for me to understand things when i get equipment like this first and then buy other things. It steems from working automotive electronics and having switches and whatnot wired into a switched system instead of individual switches and redoing it later. I don't know if this is logical but having a patchbay and being able to mess with my chain as I purchance more equipment seems logical to me (the only out board things i have is a mixer and compressor right now). My main question is how do different brands and models compare quality wise. Since this is the control of the chain, I obviously don't want to skimp here. If it is an issue of features vs. quality, that's a different story. Keep in mind i know nothing about this. It is very hard for me to find reviews since it is a piece many amatures skip. Again, sorry if this has been asked before over and over.

patchbays wont really affect your sound that much, but you should at least get something decent. (not behringer) Furnam makes some nice ones for cheap.
