Is there anyone who makes/sells quality patch cable sets?

NO HOSA!

Maybe 8 cables in a set?

12", 18" or 24" etc.?

1/4" plugs?

Are Hosa just prone to breakage, or is audio quality an issue with their patch cables?

I haven't noticed any quality issues and in fact I've never had one break yet but there have been numerous posts on this board from people who have had bad luck with them.

Saying Hosa cables "suck" is rather unfair, as those that often say that are really comparing it to something much more high end, like Canare cable with switchcraft plugs, for example.

Think of this... a Chevy Caprice by itself is a perfectly okay car, but if you compare it to a mint condition Lambourghini Diablo, well, I think you get the idea :D

I currently use Hosa's and have had no problems with them. But, I'm using them to go between mixer and soundcard and would like something of a higher quality.

I realize that I can buy individual cables which I'll probably do, but I just wish a higher-end manufacturer would sell them in sets. And if they do, well, that's the purpose of my original post.

The other factor is, IMHO, Hosa cables look major cheeseball.

Cheers,

Earl

If you know how to solder, thats never an issue.

*and* you can make the cables the correct length for your application. Short, long, 37", 51", whatever floats your boat. :)

What makes you think you'll gain any quality by going to expensive cables? How are you going to measure it?

It's not difficult to see/feel the difference in the quality of high end cables vs. molded plug cables like Hosa.

I've got a HOSA 8-channel snake with only TWO channels that aren't dodgy one way or another.

I have yet to have a Monster cable crap out in any manner. And i've got more of those than Hosa, and use them more often.

Check out used stuff on Ebay. Sometimes there are lots of patch cables and you can pick up a bunch for cheap. Also, Monster has lifetime warrantee, so if you buy some used Monster and there's a problem, just take it in to your local dealer and they will replace it no questions asked.
