It all depends on the numbers...what power handling are the speakers (watts RMS) and ? What resistance are they (ohms)?, what does the Denon put out power wise? Give us some details and we'll get ya sorted out.
I don't think there'd be any problem. I did it for years with various receivers.
The tone controls present an issue... where do you set them?
I just put on the best recorded music I could find and set the tone controls to sound good with that, and then made marks on the receiver where the knobs were.
it's best if you bypass the preamp and tone controlls entirely... look on the back for apreamp out/power amp in connector... they usually have i little jumper between the two... use that if at all possible... i doubt power is going to be an issue...
