Passive bass into a Active bass

i have a passive bass but what can i plug it into to make it sound likes its active preamp and a active eqs??

What kind of preamp for a passive bass will make it sound active??

An insert cable, probably. Maybe an A/B box or something. Do you have a lathe? Or can you build one? That might help.
