Paris on a PII??? I recall downloading the software a couple of years ago when I had a PII and it wouldnt run.
Paris is definitely a good deal right now if you dont mind the lack of upgradability. Its also more of a recorder...less a sequencer/MIDI application. You could be set for a couple of years but when the next generation of technology comes along(higher bitrates, better mix engines, etc) youll probably ditch it. The wild claims of paris "soudning" better are overblown. The people who use paris tend to have excellent mics, pres, monitors, comps, cables, etc
