I've recorded just a snare using 5 mics. 1 close right at the head, 2 overhead about 2 feet above and 2 ambience mics 10 feet away. I was wondering what is the best way to pan these 5 mics?

What do you want them to do? What are they supposed to sound like?

5 for just a snare? what special effects sound can be achieved with this? What true sound did you get using this techniques?

was the rest of the kit not being played at the time?

I am just testing the snare before I setup the whole kit. Since the kit will have close mic, overheads and ambience, I just wanted to know what is the best way to pan a single snare with 5 mics. I was thinking close and 0, overhead at L50 & R50 and ambience at hard L100 and R100. What do you think?
