Panning Channels/Real-Time Processing

I have a very lame issue with Cubase that I'm sure is all due to me working with the program for just couple of weeks - but I can't find my way around!

What it is - how do you pan the channels, so the sound goes like say right to left, and how do you process the effects in real time so, say - you gradually change the settings of Band Modulator and it "remembers" that gradual alteration during the further playbacks?

That would be automation. It's covered in the manual and a lot of web sites

Yeah, automation is what you need.

Not to be confused with an 'automaton'. I hired one once to mix my tracks - never again...
