I need a few egg crate foam panels to finish my studio, mainly just to break up sound a little. I just want to place one here or there. Can anyone tell me where I might find them or what would work best. I went to Walmart but they just sell the flat now, no more egg crate.

Hi,
1. You don't need eggcrate style foam cause it doesn't "break" sound but absorbs hence the flat type is more effective.

You can put rigid fibreglass panels instead. Cheaper than good foam too.

I have covered one wall in rigid fiberglass along with bass traps in the corners. I just want to put a few panels on the other walls. Was thinking I should use something like the egg crate or some sort of foam.

Nick, browse through the links on Bob Golds site.
The yellow panels are fibreglass, the more greenish stuff normally is rockwool.

I will post pictures if someone can tell me how to make them small enough to be uploaded. It say they need to be 64k of smaller, they are no where near that.

im hardly the acoustic expert or anything but i dont quite see the reasoning behind wanting the egg crates? if anything wouldnt they just absorb more high range frequencies which is already easily being absorbed by the fiberglass? if anything, id bet youd want to absorb more bass...

how big a room we talking about?

Ewww.. 10x10. I'd say you'll need more bass trapping than you can handle in there brutha. Thats prob the worst dementions you can have in a room.
