The pelusos would cost about 600 and the Studio Projects about 300. I'm sort of limited on money, but i could save up and buy the pelusos. I was wondering if you guys think it would be worth it? Would my drum recordings be 300 dollars better?

I was thinking of buying the peluso's as well. I will probably be ordering them by the end of the week. I found one review from "Nick's Picks" that said the following: http://www.nickspicks.com/mic-peluso.htm

"For the nitty gritty tapers who want to know how they stack up to other mics out there, let me offer you my opinion.

way better than the Oktava MC-012. Not even in the same league
nicer to my ear than the AKG blueline (which i find horribly colored)
on par with a Neumann KM184, but more transparent.
Not as detailed as the AKG c480, which I still feel is one of the best concert taping mics for the money. Smoother sounding overall though. fwiw
a better bargain than the MBHO's.
Studio Projects C4, need not apply. "

So, at least this one reveiwer thought the C4 didn't even compare. I had a hard time finding much info on the peluso's, and unfortunately have no way of auditioning them beforehand but they sound like what I need. I'm going to contact a guy from soundpure and talk to him before I make my final decision, but I think I'm going w/ the Pelusos.

Hope this helps.

I used to have C4's. They are pretty decent on drum overheads.
I sold them and bought CEMC6's.

The Peluso's are less colored, smoother, have more detail and 3D stereo imagery than the C4's. They are much better for portraying a natural real sound. I love them for drum overheads and acoustic instruments.
I think they do a much better job of giving you a detailed, natural sound on acoustic instruments.

I know Nick, he knows his stuff for sure. Another guy who is a genius with mics is www.oade.com ---the business owner is Doug Oade who is a legend in the taping world.
