wow, your pretty nuts, with that whole jar thing LMAO.

do you do that with all of your mics?

thats pretty awesome though, i must admit.

I feel pretty good when my mics are in one of those leather bags... of course I'd need like 100 leather bags and at that point I can just buy another mic!

When recording other people, it looks like you're bringing out a priceless instrument to record them with!

I'd had trouble with another brand of condensor getting moisture in the capsule. When I bought the SP's, I spoke to someone there, and they recommended the glass jar method.

I don't have that many mics, otherwise using this method would make my studio look like a delicatessen. My Behringer Dynamics that I use for vocoding just sit out on their stands under a plastic bag...

My new NT1a's will get the jar treatment, as will my Baby Bottle.

As you can see I'm very obsessive about my gear! :-) If you can't actually be an eccentric recording genius, you can always act like one!

yes! acting counts for something!

i'm designing a small mic cabinet. Going to make it out of wood and acrylic panels, all the corners caulked up. thinking about some kinda weatherstrip type setup for the door, and a small humidity control system. researching as we speak ;)

tragik...make a thread on it with any pertinent information and keep me updated...

i definitely am interested in getting something together as newer and better stuff comes in...

sorry to derail :P

ork, i will, once i start getting things together. i'm dying to do it, just waiting for the holidays to be over so i can buy things without getting dirty looks and comments like 'but i thought you didnt want anything for christmas'..

i'm gonna build a box for now, and then figure something out for humidity control. maybe a cigar-humidor type thingy?

sorry to hijack the thread.
