How much do you want to spend, and how many channels do you need? Just a couple? I'd start looking at something like these:

4 mic channels, more line-in's for keyboards, cd players, whatever. And FX, $109.

Here's a yamaha version - same basic thing, plus a compressor on 2 channels. I had a similar yamaha mixer for years, it was a great piece.. $159:

Soundcraft, never owned one, but they get rave reviews on their preamps and eq, $179:

Thanks- using a conglomeration of advice- here's my plan

I think I can get around $150 for my Ibanez- so I'll just roll that into the mixer

Buy Yamaha Mixer
-run Mains to EV to Mackies
-run Monitors to Passport Tower to Passport speakers

Sennheiser Mics 3 pack/cables/stands- already purchased

Get one of the guitarists old amps to run my keyboard separate from PA

Do I have everything correct?
How does that setup sound?

That sounds like a good way to utilize what you already own, and save a lotta $$. I think that about covers it, assuming you have all the cords to hook it all up.

That's a pretty good plan, and Yamaha mixers are pretty reliable, as they go. One thing-guitar amps, even on the clean channel, don't work that well for keyboards, as a rule. In the days before keyboard amps, bass amps were routinely used, especially the Fender Bassman. Try to find an old bass amp.-Richie

Awesome- thanks for the tips. I actually have an old bass amp I'll use. I need to get one more banana-1/4 for the amp to Mackie.

You guys have been awesome- these posts saved me ton of money and gave me some great insight.

Ha ..... we were only pulling your leg you need to spend at least 6 grand or forget it!

Only joking around :D sounds like you have a good plan.

But you may find that as time goes on and your band gets better gigs that you will eventually out grow this set up and be looking for an up grade here and a tweak there.

Thanks everyone for your help on my PA setup last week. I ordered the Yamaha and tried hooking up everything yesterday.

Turns out my EV Power Amp doesn't have a power cord. So I need to buy one- anything special I should know before I do? It says 120V ac and 50 / 60 HZ on the back.

I don't have any cables to run from my Yamaha Mixer to my Passport PD-250 for monitors or from Yamaha mixer to EV power amp for mains. What type and brand do you recommend?

Last one, I promise- when I run my cables from the mixer to my passport, what should I plug into on the Passport board?

Well, looks like you cant see the setup in the picture. I'll post what I can remember/see-

From L to R, the setup is

First Row-
#'s 1-4 Mic/Line, #5- Stereo (L/R RCA, 1/4" TRS), #6-Stereo (L/R RCA, 1/4" TRS), Aux Ret (far right jack)

Second Row-
Left (Send and Return-top, and Mains-bottom), Right (Send and Return-top, and Mains-bottom) Rev/Aux Send (top jack), Footswitch (lower jack), Stereo Out (RCA's), Power Switch

Any help would be appreciated- thanks

Most likely you will need to connect the aux sends of your mixer via 1/4 jacks to the fender and any of its line-ins.

Use a standard XLR cable to go from mixer main outs to the power amp.
