p-a for drums?

I'm new to this, I'll get right to the question. I have a tascam 8 trk, 5 mikes..and a peavey 6 channel p.a........do I just run the mics thru the p.a. and into the 8 trk? I would really appreciate any help I can get.......thank you

Are you trying to use the peavey as P.A. (for gigs), to mics the drums?.
