1 mic phase cancellation? lol

Whats wrong with the sample? It depicts what my OHs are like, cant really do much better a sample.

Eck

Why is "1 mic phase cancellation" funny? I must of missed something.

As far as the sample, you said you just randomly hung the OH's, and were waiting for mic stands. I would get that together and post another sample with the mics properly placed.

If you can make a diagram, or pics of the setup, you could get a lot more help too. :D

Yes but that is also a mono output.

Huh? I was just responding to your statement that phasing and comb filtering only happen when two mics are summed to mono. Which is flat out untrue.

Phase is all relative and for the purposes of this discussion it was in regards to two overhead tracks that were panned L/R. Comb filtering between two tracks is only a real issue when the tracks are summed to mono and not when they are wide panned.

Anything else you want to argue out of context?

It IS in context to the clip he posted. His issues have more to do with the room's phase issues and the mic's placement than the two two tracks being summed to mono.

I'm not arguing anything. Just pointing out some problems...... :D

Ill post a clip of my OHs when we get round to doing some proper recordings.
