Hello,
I've been reading through old posts and searching for any information that has been already given, but I still don't have all that I'm looking for, so help me out if you could.
I'd like to replace my old overhead mics (AKG C3000 pair) with some small diaphragm condensers. The Rode NT5 and Studio Projects C4 were both really high on my list, due to their price and middle-of-the-road reputations. I know that I could buy a pair of the NT5's from Guitar Center with their 30-day return policy, but there really aren't any Studio Projects dealers that I can see around here (I live in Minnesota). I'd like to try them out before I get them, but that doesn't seem very possible.
Does anybody here have any sound clips of these mics being used for overheads? Or acoustic guitar? I'll probably end up using the mics for both purposes.
As an alternative, does anybody know of any good microphone rental places in Minnesota, or of any directories? With all the talk about different mics, I don't see very much talk of rental. I have no idea what the rental price could be, so if it's a pretty high percentage, maybe it's not worth it...
Anyways, if you guys can help me out or give me opinions or solutions, I'd be quite appreciative.
