Here is a simple old time tune I recorded last night to see how my relatively new AT4040 worked on mandolin.

I love the name "Mandocaster"...It's perfect.

I don't know enough about mandolin music to criticise the recordong. But if it means anything, it was like you were sitting right in front of me in a big room. Very clear and beautiful to my ears. Nice stuff.

i might hi-cut the verb a bit more, but that's it.

That's cool! I like the mandolin. Very good playing. Very bright and good tone. It's well recorded too, don't really hear any noise. Good tune, I like that kind of stuff. That'd probably be fun tune to play for people.

Wow, nice clear sound. And some good playing. I'd say the mic is working for you. I actually have the same mic, and am pretty happy with it. What pre are you using?

Thanks for the advice on the verb - I'll check it out.

I just used the pre on my Yamaha AW4416.

Good tune, I like that kind of stuff. That'd probably be fun tune to play for people.

It was the first tune I learned on the mando 20 years ago.

It's still one of my favorites
