Hi, i have major problem with Sonar X1 and Creative Live card; when i inserted VST, mine audio output gone wild! It sets signal to maximum and creates terrible noise. In addition, sometimes it works well till the moment when i add another track and start midi recording on that track. Also, this sometimes happens when i just play some old song with few midi tracks... it works only few minutes and then all breaks; then i need to restart PC.
Does anybody know how to solve this, or had same problem? I've tried to reinstall drivers for Creative, ASIO, tur-on, turn-off, many combinations, unpluged midi cable (which goes in game port)... and nothing helps.

Default setting for MIDI tracks in Sonar is unity gain, which is usually way too high because the samples are in most cases already processed and compressed.

Turn down the faders to the levels you want and save the settings.

I don't know exactly where to set that, but i've tried something similar in configuration file, but without sucess. Look what's hapening: 1. I've started Sonar, suppose everything is working properly... Then: 2. Create new project, normal... -> output fails (in a second. I dont do anything else, just that 2 clicks). There is enormous buzz on speakers (like when you add dc voltage on normal speaker). And then i need to reset PC, and this happens all the time.

Have you installed X1 patch A and patch B?

Next up would be updating the Creative Live drivers.

I found what's the problem was. I have instaled XP with 2x2 GB RAM, and when i remove one memory stick it all works OK. I know that XP dont "see" more than 3 GB, but how is this possible whit Sonar? Is there any way, or some change in Conf file, that allows Sonar to work normally? Or, i have to reduce memory capacity? I've read some article, and there was a problem with Sonar and Intel chipset 915 (915). There was an error with audio streaming on PCI. After that, i've started to test all components in PC, and finaly found that problem with memory... (my chipset is 946).
