Dammit, I see your alias and I get all giddy thinking about ripping apart your religious propaganda, but then it turns out you're too daft to actually post a link....

:(

Get it together man!

WWJD! (he'd have his shizznit linked like a mofo)

"His Hand On Me (Live)"

Man, those Catholics been having some kinda trouble with that lately...its about time somebody wrote a song about it...

Well - I listened to 2 of the live songs. I think I might have heard some drum sounds in there, but I might have been imagining things. Really, that's an awful recording. But I heard the vocals and the guitar OK. The studio ? version of JC is King sounded better, but there are some problems with the the timing. It sounds more like a 'let's get drunk and high and play' kind of band than a christian group. The singer has a decent voice, just needs to keep practicing. You guys could get a much better sound if you tried micing the drums separate - at least a couple to get a cleaner snare and cymbal sound. What you have is definately lo-fi.

Actually, the drums were the first thing recorded on Jesus Christ Is King. (There were 5 mics on the drum kit.) Then bass, then, Rythymn Geetar, then Lead 1, then lead 2, then vocals... It was put together like a puzzle and definately not the last take on this song. Actually, we are looking for a raw old time Rock and blues sound, not the slick stuff out there today with the drums so out front. It is being done in a nice
home studio and it's FREE so ya can't beat da price!

The live songs are about 4th gen from the master and the drums never did come out too good in the first place. The Mic on the bass drum fell over and got buriied in stuffin(!) and where the guy put the mic on the snare/hi hat, it kept getting knocked over! LOL The guy that set it up used the ole one on the kick, one on the snare, and two in the air micing on them but they were never mixed correctly in the first place.

Thanks for your honest input. I'll share this with the engineer.

Jesus Christ is King

Wow, it's George Thorogood goes to church! :-) It's actually kind of catchy, but as others point out the mix needs some help. In particular you need to clean up the drums.

I listened to Red Horse and Jesus Christ Is King. A little noise issue and some tuning problems on Red Horse.
Jesus Christ Is King; definatly Lonesome George gets religion. If it wasn't for the hiss from the cassette multi track this one wouldn't be too bad.

I think the previous comments nailed it, but still decent tunes.

Red Horse is one of the old Live tunes and the noise from it being at least a 4th gen copy. The tuning issues from the different speeds of the cassette players. :( This song is slated to be the next song recorded in the digital studio for our CD.

[/B][/QUOTE]It was recorded digitally but I put the mix on an RCA Consumer grade cassette recorder and then recorded it on to CDex as a Wave then converted it to MP3 format.

Thanks for the comments, Track Rat! Any suggestions?

Hey Axel:

Gave "Jesus Christ is King".

First thing I noticed is that the Drummer is too-straight ahead.
The fills were standard fills of the drum machine variety. Very repetitous fills.
Not a bad Drummer, just a little too safe. Tell him to loosen up & let go!

Nice vocals, really adds the bluesy edge to the song. If I tried to sing like that, I would be gargling for a month...

Nice guitar work, good soloing.
Prrrraaaaissssseee GAAAAAAWWWWD!

I play Christian Blues-based stuff on the side, too..

I'm not Brent, just the lowly Guitar/Bass player.

JC is King was pretty good, especially for Christian rock. I think the stuff usually gets a bad rap because the songwriting is so lame and "safe." It's refreshing to hear someone add an edge to that style.

Hey Bro! Sharon, our drummer, might just be insulted if she knew you called her a him. ;) Actually, her first take on the song was great but our "producer" decided it would be better if she played it pretty straight forward and that's what she did. She's a very good drummer IMHO and I really wouldn't trade her in for TWO drum machines like I told her we were going to do. LOL Her pic is on the Bethel Website: http://www.geocities.com/thebethelband/index.html?1010892220730 She generally plays a BIG Tama drumset that looks bigger than she is. LOL

Jeffro wrote the lyrics and does the vocals, Intro, first 24 bars of lead and the end. He's a BIG Lonesome Gorge fan. (As if no one could tell)

I'm the 70's relic doing the second 24 bars of lead on the song. Got called back into music after twenty years out of it. Checkout my testimony on my website if ya like: http://www.geocities.com/bluesaxe4christ/index.html?1010776935960

I'm listening to your "Satan's Got The Blues" now and it's sounds great. Nice n clean, Bro! I'll checkout the other ones after work.

Thanks for the compliments, man!

Blessings!

Thanks Lopp! I agree that most of the stuff out there (both Christian and non-christian as a matter of fact) is pretty lame myself.

Blessings!
