Hi,
I just bought this machine and think I might have discovered a problem. I would love to be told I'm wrong:rolleyes:
The part of the tachometer roller (thats what the manual calls it) that the tape runs over is brown (fair enough) and has 3 "tracks" or ribs on it.It looks a little rough to be handling tape, on the other hand, its opposite number, the Guide roller has a smooth polished texture as you would expect. Is this the way its supposed to be? It looks to me like a covering is missing. Any help appreciated.

Yes, that is how the tach roller is supposed to look. The ribs are for friction so the tape won't slip. Otherwise the tachometer would be way off. On the MX-50 the tach roller is the one on the right.

:)

Thanks guys, picture attached. Looks very "Industrial Revolution" to me, but I'm happy to be wrong:)
