Anyone else's Winamp skip at all? Mine does it about twice every song, usually during the really good bits. I've reinstalled it etc., and I got plenty of PC muscle. Just wondering if there's a fix.

What type of file is it skipping on? Streamed from a website or from the hard-drive?

I know what you're thinking, but it's from the HD. Any ideas?

It would appear to be "Crossfading Direct Sound output vs 1.37."

Try using the 'wave out' output plugin instead, or increase your buffer length in the cross-fade plugin.

Waldo:

While you are here, i have a question. My computer (only mine) can't play stream mp3s from NWR anymore. Realplayer just starts to upgrading itself to nothing as soon as I click on a song, and MEdia Player sometimes work and sometime doesn't.

Can you thin of a cause for this or it's just my messed up comp?

Thanks

AL

Try configuring a different player to use the M3U file type, instructions are in the FAQ under Help at NWR.

A1A2,

I'd also check the section on Windows Media Player and ensure that it's configured properly. Most likely it's your networking settings where it won't play streamed output, but will play PAYDL (Play as you download)

actually, it used to play stream just fine until recently. I will read thru the help section tonight and try to figure thigs out. I might just get a winamp.

thanks for the quick replies

Same here.I use to be able to stream a "download" of an mp3 as it was downloading ,but recently the download link just brings up the file name and the usual "save as" etc. instead of playing it while d-loading it.

The download is forced mime, it's not intended to be streamed while downloading, because that's not streaming!

Use the stream links to stream, and if the artist has set permissions to 'allow all download' it will play while downloading and you can saveas when done. If not, you are SOL.

Sucks, but I gotta protect artists rights.
