Depends on the Satanist in question. Anton Lavey Satanism, your absolutely right. Its not the same. But that particular religion/philosophy/trainwreck is not representative of all people who consider themselves satanist. And since he didnt invent the word, he doesnt get exclusive right to it, nor do his followers. Lavey himself is to blame for the confusion, because he adopted the name, and appearance as kind of a statement/sick joke/ego trip, and he alone is responsable for the confusion...As I am sure he deliberately caused it.

And you do the research. I have plenty of friends who were and/or are followers of the man, who explained it all in far more detail than I had the desire to hear. I have also had the misfortune to know "other" types of satanists, who, well, lets just say that they were less pleasant and leave it at that.

I think people who don't know the difference between "your" and "you're" are evil and will spend at least some time in hell. Same goes for people who don't know the difference between "to", "too", and "two".


As far as the OP's question goes: Ozzy is just some guy that uses dark imagery to sell his music. It's kind of like the musical equivalent to a scary movie.

I don't know why musicians get taken more seriously than people who make movies. Does Wes Craven get accused of being a devil worshiper?
