Just recently i purchased a TASCAM 424 (the original beige one) off of ebay, but didn't receive the owners manual. My question is, how do I mix 4 recorded tracks down to 2 tracks so i can mix the recording to a two track cassette deck? I have the owners manual for the 424 MKIII but the controls on the one are very different from the original, and turned out to be of little help. In fact the method listed in the MKIII resulted in the erasing of some of my recording!
so heres what i have:
-all 4 tracks have recordings on them
what i want to do is mix tracks 1 and 3 down to track 1 (left), and 2 and 4 down to 2 (right). So, i can mix the whole thing down to a regular 2 track cassette deck.
If no one has any answers i'd like to know where i can get the owners manual without having to pay TASCAM for the photocopy.
