Yeah I been drinkin, SO!?
I researched guitar gear for about a year before I pulled the trigger, which is a lot of planning to do for only $500 worth of stuff.
One item I decided on was a fulltone ocd, which, just as I was about to order, went out of stock at my favorite place to order from online, humbuckermusic. I've had great experiences with them, and I hate having to buy from big boxes.
So I grudgingly went to sweetwater, since I know they ship quickly and free, and carry fulltone. No luck. I emailed humbucker and a NUMBER of other independent stores to ask when they would have an OCD in stock. The sweetwater site kept promising it would be in 'within a day or two,' but after watching that message stay up for over a week, I gave up on them. And all my emails I sent out?
One reply. Just one! So I promptly ordered from them, good price, free shipping, and it arrived promptly. So, in addition to humbucker (even though they didn't get back to me this time), I am now a loyal customer of tonetronix.
Just sort of a heads-up in case there are any dealers here. Sometimes it doesn't take much to win customers, especially when your competition is too busy to even email customers back, even to say 'sorry, no idea.' And I know it's just a lousy $144 pedal, but next time I'm looking for something more expensive, and next summer I may be, where do you think I'm going first?
ANyone else here have favorite independent music stores they buy from online?
