Yeah I been drinkin, SO!?
I started using Reason, and so far it's about the funnest program ever invented. Not sure how much I can use it in my real music, but I'm getting paid to make exercise music right now, and it work well for that. Plus, like I say, fun as hell.
My question is about effects like chorus, comressor, delay, etc. Are there certain categories of effects that should come before or after others? Does it depend on the objective? For those who haven't used Reason, for each synth you just drag and drop effects into the rack, but you can flip the rack around and route them however you want. I'm not averse to just screwing around with the program until I find what I like, just wondered if there were any kindof universal truisms when it came to ordering effects.
As it stands, I almost always drop in an eq first, because that's the first thing I'd like to tweak about most sounds, if only to get them out of eachother's way. After that, I usually go to chorus or delay, sometimes distortion, and reverb last, but sometimes compression.
Thanks for any help.
