Given the choice, would you prefer:

1) A dual mono compressor with limiter

2) A stereo only compressor with limiter

3) A dual mono / stereo linkable compressor w/o limiter

Any and all input appreciated.

If you're talking about an separate limiter (such as the PeakStop), I'll go with "3" - I never use the peakstop (maybe for live use... Maybe...).

another vote for three, unless ( like a VMP for example) you can choose the order of the signal chain, then, #1

I would say #2, since that would allow for comp/limiting on drum overheads or stereo mic'ed accoustic, etc. etc.
 
What's the application, and more importantly, what are the quality requirements?
If peak stop doesn't cut it, what are some examples of comp+limiters that do? (I'll take the UltraFunk comp+limiter over a 166 any day but neither will pass as high do-da.:p
