Opinions wanted: Ernie Ball "Axis" guitar

I have absolutely no experience with this product at all. Can anyone give me some idea of how they sound and play. Opinions and observaitons wanted. Also, what would be a good price for a used flame top in mint condition.

I've been searching around eBay and there were a couple that caught my eye.
 
The Axis is the same guitar (except a moved toggle switch) as the MM Van Halen that Mr. Ed played and endorsed. They are very nice guitars and can give a nice thick chunky sound when put through a Marshall, 5150, etc. The action is wonderful on them and the necks are some of the best I've played. A mint used one with a great top on it could fetch 800 to 1000. Even higher with a stunning top.

The only thing I didn't like was the Floyd Rose on it. Only because I don't need one anymore. When I buy another, It'll be the Axis Super Sport with a standard bridge.
 
EB MM guitars are some of the finest you'll ever get your hands on. I play the JP model. Very versitile and very comfy to play. :)
