Hi all...
Guitar player here who uses keyboards to augment home recordings...was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the Yamaha PSR540 and PSR640 keyboards. I'm looking for something versatile with a lot of interesting sounds and good piano sounds (the music I record on my BR-8 is pop/rock/folk). My price range is $500 to $800, I guess.
The PSR640 sounds fantastic to me. Currently I'm using an "old" Yamaha keyboard from 1992 or so...an SY77, I think. It's definitely ok but I'm looking to upgrade and the piano sounds on my current keyboard aren't very good at all.
If anyone can suggest another brand I should consider, please do so. I live in NYC and work near 48th Street, so I can check out a lot of stuff on my lunch hour at Sam Ash and Manny's.
