I'm working on some oddball fusion type of stuff and I've been going for a more realistic drum sound. I've been listening to cats like Virgil Donati nonstop for a few weeks and trying desperately to get it to rub off on my drum programming!
I'm pretty happy with this short piece of programming, what do you guys think?
The rest of the music is just there.....don't pay much attention.

Great job on the drums. I'm not too crazy for the super-panned cymbal crashes. I'd personally bring them in some. The rest sounds pretty authentic though and flows well. Very nice. :)

thats class, guitars are cool too...

what drum programme are you using...

i must cheak out Virgil Donati...

Really nice job! What did you use to generate the sounds?

I am using Drumkit From Hell Superior.

Thanks guys.

Greg L, I hear ya - that is something wierd that DFHS does - it pans the cymbals way out in the stereo overhead track. I can bounce the cymbals to individual tracks and pan them to taste if I want to....I may try that when I get to the final stages.

Yanno, this sounds VERY Buddy Rich influenced.. Good job!
