Guys,
I can buy a new Se2200T for 275 euros and I've been looking for an affordable tube mic for some time now. SOS says it's good, but they always say that. Anyusers of this particular mic around here? Can't be worse that the 2200a and that's a well respected mic...I've heard it myself and found it a little on the bright side, but then again maybe the tube smoothes that a bit? http://www.seelectronics.com/sE2200T.html
Well, the SOS review is HERE.
It seems very fair to me and Paul White knows his stuff when it comes to mics like this (though the person who is really top notch at SOS is Hugh Robjohns).
I read the review to say that, for the money you pay, it's well worth considering.
Try and have a listen to one before you commit.
Maybe look at the Sontronics Saturn as well for an inexpensive valve (vacuum tube) mic.
One has to be a little careful when reading articles about equipment.
For one doesn't know what kind of back room deals have been made.
It is better to read up on items on boards like this to know about what the first hand experiences have been and believe me if there is anything wrong with an item you and the rest of us will be the first to know about it.
