Gentlemen

My home studio has just acquired an original Yamaha 02r v2 with a pair of AES/EBU cards installed.

I have a G5 and use Logic.

What do you recommend for connecting mixer to computer?

I probably don't need more than 8 I/O at this point.

I would like the interface to include Word Clock and MIDI if possible.

Thank you.

Reading the manual and a firewire cable.

the o2 >is< a computer soundcard/interface....

No its not. Not unless he has an mLan card in it. But an mLan card would be the easiest way to go. unless you were wanting to use the AES for your conversion to the PC, then you could use a Lynx or RME AES card. They both make them. But routing will be easier with an mLan card.

thanks for your response.

mLan card could be hard to find.

The RME AES card looks good with MIDI and Word Clock. But D/A conversion would still be handled by 02r, right?

Actually, you can get the mLan card from any Yamaha Commercial Audio dealer. Either way you go, the 02R does the conversion. AES is all digital.
