Opinions on final mixes??? (Death Metal)

I have re-mixed all my songs I have recorded so far and would love some feed back. All 6 songs are here:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=481840

All songs:

4 guitar tracks 1 80% left, 1 80% right, 1 100% left , 1 100% right
1 bass track centered
1 drum machine track centered
1 main vocal track with some 2nd track fill-ins

The guitars are all done with my V-Amp Pro. 2 tracks with the Off-Axis Cabinet and 2 tracks with the Vintage 78 Cabinet. I also used the V-Amp Pro to record the bass track as well.

Any and all comments are more than welcome good and/or bad. Any questions please ask.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to listen and comment!!!

Hey Peter. Had a listen to the first one on headphones. I've never 'got' the vocal style of this genre so I'll say nought about that. I like your guitar sound, that V-amp does a good job. My impression is that drums are just slightly buried in some parts behind the vocal, the snare & kick at least. Pretty intense

Wow, those drums are happening, now! How in the hell would you ever get a dude to play those songs live?

I like some head banger's rock now and then but, this singing style is a little far fetched for me. Maybe I'm getting old. I don't know. Oh, well.

You do have a fairly good mix going on so far. I really like the sound of your guitar tracks. The vocals sound good also but seem a tiny bit too much on top of everything else. But, I wouldn't sink them back into the mix too far either though, because they are the main focus, (I think.) Vocals are touchy. There must be a level where they sit in the mix comfortably. Compare your mix with other store bought stuff to determine where the vocal levels belong. If you are satisfied with them, then leave them alone. I am only one opinion.

Keep up the good work. It's coming along nicely.

1st track should come with a volume advisory rather than a parental.
Similarly I can't get me ears or brain around the vocal style & you probably know I have a long standing dislike of most generic digital distortion effects.
Parts sound like the Iggy version of the bat man theme.
Can someone really play the double bass drum THAT fast?
Good mix & recording though the bass seems to be an impression rather than a substantial element.

Thanks for talking the time to listen and comment. I have been working on the drums (bringing them up and/or down in the mix) for a while now and can not find a happy place...LOL I love the V-Amp as it gives so many options.

Those drums are actually "slow" compared to allot of death metal these days. There are allot of great death metal drummers that play much faster.

Yeah, if your not a fan of death metal more than likely you will not like the vocals or the music that much either....LOL

Yeah, the vocals are a big part of death metal and in most death metal the vocals sit on top or maybe in front of most of everything else.

The bass guitar is burried allot if death metal music and is never really heard, more just felt than anything. Yup, there are lots of death metal drummers that can play much faster than I have my drums programed. The vocals don't have that much effects on them...reverb, EQ, de-easer, compression, and a bit of pitch-shift and that is it...no digital distortion or crazy effects. That is all from my gut...LOL

Sounding good bro.
The guitars sound great and I think you've got your levels set up better than ever. Vocals sound really good too.
Nice job.

Haha, I heard that riff thrown in there from the song we were screwing around with...and the vocal line. Good Stuff! ;)

Glad you like it metalhead, I know you like death metal so that is great that a fan of death metal is into as well. I have learned allot from reading your postings and allot of others on here as well....thanks.

LOL....yeah, I liked that riff I wrote and then you tweaked it a bit at the end of the riff and the other dude that did the vocal arangment was great so I expanded on it and think it worked out very well. The first song on the Soundclick site (Self Mutilation) was my latest song and I am very happy with it. It is pretty straight forward but in the context of the 8 songs I will have when I am done I think it will fit in nicely.

Thanks for listening and commenting!!!
