open older projects into template

Hi - Just starting on Sonar. I have lots of old projects done in cakewalk. I can open them in Sonar but I want to open them/copy them somehow into my template to save having to reset all of the parameters every time I open an old project. Importing doesn't work. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

Which versions of Cakewalk and Sonar?
What parameters are you having to reset each time?

Sonar X 1, Guitar Tracks 2..I think I got it - open both projects, copy & paste one into the other.

In X1 you can drag an entire project into another project from the Browser
