Hi members of homerecording.com!
I am new to this forum and registered as I currently got a problem that I couldn't solve yet. Normally I count on my audio- and midi-experience of the past 16 years to solve such probs but this time I'm a little bit stucked...
I recently bought an used Opcode Studio64x interface at Ebay. As it happens sometimes the seller didn't include the manual and as its a piece of legacy hardware its hard to get enough informations at one location. Means one has to browse dozens of sites to get all needed info together. What makes it even harder is the fact that I can't reach Opcode's website for several days.
I hooked the interface to my Mac clone (Umax S900) and my Logic Audio Platinum 4.7.3 recognized it after installing OMS 'half-way'. When I hit a key on my masterkeyboard I get a signal on the proper midi-in led (on the interface) but no signal comes into Logic. Same for the output: the output led of the proper channel flashes when I hit the keys on the masterkeyboard. I checked the routing table inside OMS, but man! I have no clue especially since I have no documentation...ARGH!
The main problem isn't the Mac at all: I want to use the interface together with Logic Audio on my XP machine. So, here's what I did: searched for the latest drivers for use with XP, installed manually those drivers using the hardware-wizard, connected the interface to COM1 (the only COM port my motherboard is equipped with) and opened up Logic. Inside Logic I can change the output-settings of a midi-channel to Studio64X Output #1-#4 but nothing goes out on any of these selected ones.
To come to an end: Anyone willing to point me on a manual how to implement that (nice) piece of legacy hardware into a new-world OS or can give me tips what I'm doing wrong? Any help is pretty appreciated and I'd like to say a big thanks in advance for taking the time to read these lines...
Kind regards from Germany,
