Is seapunk a real genre? It's always seemed like some kind of avant garde joke by hipster fashionistas.

I'm getting a very 80s new-wave pop vibe out of the song.

Besides my inability to be convinced this isn't an elaborate joke, the mix seems pretty solid.

Thanks guys!
The song started in my friends head and he had done a demo from it. After listening it about 100 times I thought "what the hell" and made a new backtrack to the song. Then recorded the vocals again and after lots of hours mixing and recording and listening and remixing and re-writing some lyrics and re-recording I got this as result. So it's half my song?
I'm not sure if seapunk is a real genre or not though.
