One Track At A Time

Ok I'm sure I'm going to make a fool out of myself when I say this
I'm recording 1 track at a time here with a Behringer AD/DA Converter, Emu Sound card connected through Adat and a SM57. I'm using cool edit. How exactly would I be able to listen to a song I've just recording on headphones while recording another song at the same time?
Just don't laugh too hard. Thanks in advance.

Another song or another track in the current song? Which E-mu soundcard Audigy or 1212m? Those are my guesses since i don't think you'd be using the berry with an 1820.

Granted I am no Cool edit User. But you should be able to add another track and set it up to record the other track should play back. Just make sure that the patchmix software is setup correctly youll have to pull out the anual on that thing i'm still struggling with it myself but try one of the preset sessions the one for adat comes to mind.
