I thought you said no jokes? What are the social implications of that?

that im not joking. it is very serious and important to me.
was that a good idea to post it on this forum? that is another question which i will answer on my own.

thanks

1. im 30. i play guitar for 15 years, but only now i found my way of at least minimal PLAYING. years before i could name as of empty and fruitless playing and unmusical practicing.
i did learn other songs, transcribed (not so much but i did), learned scales and also sung.

2. how to PLAY, not "play", and how to bridge the thoughts to a fingers, to strings, to the notes on the instrument at the moment of improvisation, quick change of ideas and emotions.

if u dont get it by now, i wont be able to help u.
thanks

you've been playing for half your life?

unfortunately, those years, i think, mostly was a waste of time. i did not have a good teacher. i was playing without any creative thinking and wondering where is the problem. why it does not sound. why it sounds like a notes without direction, strong idea and stamina. i was thinking why other guys strum 3 notes and they sound. sound like music. i used to strum hundreds of notes, but none of them were ready to be called - music. then i started to think before i play, to create ideas first and then try to lay them down on my fingerboard. it gave me a direction for my music, intended movement, i always sing my ideas out, not necessary loud. and i felt that it gives a value to what i play now. like bb kind said: "always sing what u play. thats why i often look like im eating a lemon".

there is much to learn and find. music is not easy. its a heaven through the hell.

same thing with me happened. unfortunately, those years, I think, it was usually a loss of time. I did not have a good school. I played without any creative thought and where it is the problem. because it does not sound. because it sounds as the notes without the direction, the powerful idea and force. I thought because other types 3 notes and sound. sound as the music. I used in order to the hundreds of notes, but no one from she was not ready to be called - music. he is a lot of that learns and that it finds.

marioantigod, no one is trying to make fun of you, please realize that.

Maybe there is a good guitar player near you that you could take some lessons from?

You've been playing for 15 years and you feel like you still need to learn? Well thats a good thing. The day you feel like you know all you need to know, your learning curve will go flat, and then thats that. I think most of us feel the same way, we want to learn more and more. And thats a good thing. Don't be frustrated, be happy :) Have fun learning.

dear, ez_willis

could u summarize your "wonderful" posts into one sentence for me please.
dont be afraid. just say what u mean. i'll try to understand as much as i can.
this is your chance, boy.
thank u.

He said he's foreign, and his English isn't very good, that doesn't mean you need to make fun of him.

Also, it's important to realize that the reason so many musicians joke around is because they have found that they do their best work when they are loose.

It's seldom meant in a mean way and it's based on the observation that you play your best when you don't give a shit.

Most of the really good musicians I know are very funny people. They're always joking around, but they're actually very serious.

i am NOT making fun of the guy. I don't even know wtf he's talking about.

Doesn't mean you have to be a troll either. It's all in good fun and marioantigod doesn't seem to be complaining.

And you've got to admit that there are some things on this thread like "we're almost out of time" that are funny, not making fun of anybody, just funny.

I've been out of milk, money and luck... but I've never been out of time yet.

That's a strange concept. Imagine some guy coming up to you on the street: "Got any time, spare time?".

But Mario please realize that their are lots of people here that will bend over backwards to help you, it just really sounds like you are passionate but you need to practice and learn more.

I wasn't being rude, there was nothing 'troll'ish about it. But hey, as long as it's in good fun let's all emphasize on his inability to type english properly.
