Hi all first post here and it's a bad one, i need help...
I want to record some saxophone, just for fun but i have some issues with it.
The gear i use is a joke but i don't need studio quality right now.My pc is more the game rig so the soundcard is a SB 5.1 card, supposedly 24 bit.I have a little mixer, wich is basically nothing more than two meters, a mic input, two pick up, two line ins and an output and rec.The mic and pick ups and lines have sliders, that's it.
Just found a pic of it

I have connected the output of the mixers with the line in of the sound card.
I have samplitude for recording and a cheap shure 8700 dynamic and that works fine, i was kinda amazed at how nice it sounds.
Now i just got two new superlux condenser mics, the cheap ones, nice gift tho'.
When i connect either of those, with the same cable or others i barely hear anything. When i record with it i have to crank the volume for playback and if i hold my breath i can just hear it.The shure mic is the opposit, it is very clear.
What did i do wrong? It can't be that two new identical mics have the same problem?
Any help is appreciated.

do the superlux mics need phantom power? does your mixer have phantom power?

if your mics need phantom power and your mixer doesnt have it, that is probably your problem, although if that is the problem, i am surprised that you get any sound at all with the superlux.

This is wat the specs on the mic tell:
Superlux ECO-H6A
! Type: Back Electret Condenser Microphone
! Polar Pattern: Cardioid
! Frequency Response: 40~18000 Hz
! Sensitivity: -33 dBV/pa (22.4mv/pa)
! Rated Impedance: 200
! Max. SPL: 136 dB (THD 1% 1000Hz)
! Power Supply voltage: Phantom 36~52V
! Current Consumption: 3 mA

So does that mean it should work or does the mixer need it to?I have no idea how to check if it does.

You need Phantom power for that mic, I doubt your mixer has it you can go out and buy an inexpensive mic pre that has phantom power, or upgrade your mixer.
