have mine one week now and did hear lot of bass heavy dance music with them to break them in. Those are my first monitors, so i can´t say much now but will compare them in two weeks with an very flat nubert passive speaker.

Have 4 question about the wharfedales, to learn more about them:

1) how low do they go --> specification says 45 hz !! Ok they go deep really but can´t believe that they produce 45 hz +-3 dB ?

2) Why wharfedale do not write +-3 dB behind their frequency range ?

3) Is it right that the upper low range is problematic to mix with the wharfi´s ? Can´t response this question until now - no experience with other monitors.

4) Did someone heard the quad monitors ? Do they have the same wahrfedale amps / woofers / tweeters ? Is the sound equal ? Where are the quad´s better ?

The Wharfedale Quads are very nice and do sound better then the 8.2A. They also cost twice as much. They have a differant Tweeter and Woofer. I'm sure the amp is differant too.

i don't own them I just got a pair to Demo. They have more bass response and the hihgs are more crisp. More like you might find in the KRK V6 and V8 series.

did look at the pics & specs from the 12L & 8.2 actives but couldn´t see much differences.

I am really interested to here the quads too but have´nt find a dealer in germany until now but find a review now ( will read the LP - Magazin soon ). They are selling for 1500 euro äääääääääähm

first bargaining technique...know where you can get a better deal even with the shipping cost. dont be afraid to walk away if they refuse to haggle

it could cause sometimes they check. deepwater comes out the cheapest to me so I plan on buying from him after i sell the monitors i have
