on the Wharfedales

i just recieved my Wharfedale 8.2 Diamonds and i have a...well silly question.... i see that both of the monitors have a blue light on em ... but one of the blue lights does not light up is it supposed to?
 
Both of mine light up...yes...they are supposed to...Do you get sound from the monitor? Deepwater is great to deal with, im assuming you got them through him...let him know your situation...Im sure you guys can come up with a solution.
 
nah i didnt order them from him...i was thinkin about it but i didnt ....but yeah the one that doesn't light up still works.... kinda gay how it doesnt light up though
 
If you'd bought it from me I'd send you out a replacement and let you keep using the one without a light until the replacement arrived so you would not have any down time.

Same thing here - with the additional oddity that the one with the good light didn't come on until a few hours after they were up and running.
The light is too bright anyway. I've got in covererd with felt tip pen and it's more reasonable now.
Speakers sound nice tho. I'm not looking to return them just for the light ;)
 
I'm in Scotland and the pair I bought had the same fault........It hasn't been on in 6 months...the fact that it might come on some day had me highly excited for a few minutes....then I remembered I was stoned

....global fault it seems
 
YEAH! and ive had them runnin for like 10 hours now and it hasnt turned on
 
I beat its just a connection. Just remove the LFD and check the wiring

low freq driver?

did you get the passives or actives?
 
the back part? I think that is a heat sink!

The LFD is essentially the large speaker that you just bought, or the woofer
 
k well i just took everything apart and nothing appears to be disconnected? anyother suggestions.



ps. by the way thank all of you for all of the great and quick feedback its really helpful

How much did you pay for yours over here in Scotland?
 
Cheapest I could find anywhere in the UK was £244.99 for the pair, I know....I could have bought 2 pairs in US $'s at todays rates but I A/B'd them with everything in and above the price range and to MY ears, they sounded the most detailed. I haven't heard stereo imaging like it on any other monitor.

I've had the back plate off and unscrewed the LFD and can't see any way into the LED. I'd take it back and exchange it but I've had them for months now and they're well broken in and smoothed out. One blue LED I can live without with the quality of mixes I'm turning out now.

Lemon Tree. where did you go to get yours. I got mine for £200 on the dot. including packagind which usually cost about a tenner.

Academy of sound in Glasgow which is now part of sound control. I got them back in August amazingly, didn't think it was as long ago ass that. It's the 8.2 actives I have.

Where did you get yours?
