Omni 66 pathway question

I'm still learning the ins and outs of my Delta 66. What I can't figure out is how to record a track (vocal for instance) while playing back another track (guitar for instance) without the guitar being recording along with the vocal track. Does anyone know how to block that listening track from being recorded? Thanks.

What software are you using? Are you using a hardware mixer?
 
I'm using Sonar 2 and no hardware mixer, just the omni.
 
I have the Delta 66 OMNI working with Logic Audio Platinum v. 5.5.

Here are the settings I have for doing exactly what you are trying to do..

Open up the Delta 66 control pannel and I will flip through the tabs with you...

(Forget about the Monitor mixer tab for the moment)

Patchbay / Router:
H/W Out 1/2: Monitor Mixer
H/W Out 3/4: H/W In 3/4
H/W Out x/x: BLANK
H/W Out x/x: BLANK
H/W Out S/PDIF: WaveOut S/PDIF

Hardware Settings:
Master Clock: Internal Xtal
Codec Sample Rate: Whichever you want to record at ( I record at 48,000
Tick off "Reset when Idle"
Multi-Track Driver Devices: Single and in Sync
Variable Signal Levels: +4 (for all 5 of them)
DMA Buffer Sizes: This all depends on your PC/Mac. Experiment until you have as little latency as possible.

S/PDIF:
Consumer

About:
Just information (Make sure you have the must up to date drivers.
 
Oh yeah.. and where in Bama are you from? I have family all throught the Birmingham area. I am from Georgia (UGA).
 
Sorry pisces about not getting back sooner. Over Christmas I almost forgot about this thread.

I switched the controls through the tabs like you advised, but I'm still getting the playback sound through the track I want to record on. The only thing I couldn't switch in the control panel was the

multitrack drivers and devices to single and in sync

I can't change anything there cause nothing is lit.

Do you think this could be the problem?
