Hi,

I recently changed my bass's strings and holy shiz. What a HUGE difference. I thought my bass was dead.

I think this is my best recording so far (and am aware that I have a LONG way to go) but I'm glad I can hear an improvement. :)

Tell me what you think. I think drums are the weakest point. But your opinion is a lot more important than mine heh.

Anyway:

Klikie

Thanks for listenin!

(oh and see if you can guess the song.. :D It's not exactly like the real one, but it's gettin there.)

Were`s the bass?

You have to crank it way up, pluss add some lows on the eq.

The song sounded nice, guitars rocked, and all.

Nice work :)

Thanks for your quick response man. I upped the bass a little. Bass sounded pretty fine through my speakers before though (yet another reason to get real monitors :P).

Here it is, I think it sounds a lil better now though.

KLIKY KINKY

Again, thanks a lot for listenin!

hey, maybe it's just my ears but i hear little or no difference between the two mixes?

Really? I added a lot of bass to the second one. :S

Well, not A LOT so as to wreck the mix, but..

the bass sounds more present in the second clip, to my ears.

Yeah there is hardly any bass in either mix.... and at the end where there is that bit os solo bass, the phasing is way off....That is another reason why the bass is lost....the guitars seem either phased too much or panned too far out... It a very wierd stereo field you've created there....I used to do the same thing, making stuff too wide... ya gotta bring it in, and keep it closer to center...

there isn't much low low on the bass either, but it does have a nice tone to it....It could sound very good w/ a little tweakin...

i listened thru headphones and my monitors. i noticed the bass come up quite a bit in the second clip. it is a bit thin in tone though. what are you guys listening thru?

Really is there too little bass?

EDIT: Well, I just realized I had been listening to this through normal stereo speakers. Um, you are totally right.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys, I really appreciate them!

How can I fix the phasing? What is phasing in simple terms? :S
